近些年來(lái)，中國(guó)考生在托福獨(dú)立口語(yǔ)部分的得分普遍偏低，鮮見(jiàn) “Good” 檔次。究其原因，除了語(yǔ)音語(yǔ)調(diào)、詞匯語(yǔ)法的問(wèn)題外，內(nèi)容信息不足和邏輯缺失也很明顯；尤其對(duì)于思維局限和語(yǔ)言水平不高的同學(xué)們來(lái)說(shuō)，要在15秒內(nèi)想到兩個(gè)適用的理由和正確的表達(dá)尤為困難。在此篇文章，Phil老師繼續(xù)來(lái)介紹幾個(gè)好用的萬(wàn)能理由及其在具體考題中的使用。
1.to make friends/strengthen friendship
常用詞匯及短語(yǔ)：to share the same interest(s)，to talk to / communicate with someone，to share one’s experiences，to do sth together etc.
例題1：What is your favorite activity to do in the weekend? Give reasons to explain your answer.
思路：以喜歡運(yùn)動(dòng)為例，一條原因可以是能交到有共同愛(ài)好的朋友，比如我喜歡打網(wǎng)球，經(jīng)常遇到新球友，我們會(huì)一起玩以及討論球賽球星等等；具體可以這樣說(shuō)：
By doing sports, I can make more friends because it’s easier to meet people who share the same interests this way. For example, I like to play tennis and I always have fun playing with some new guy on the court. After that, we would talk about tennis stars like Roger Federer and some recent tennis games.
例題2：Some students choose to take lessons during summer break while others prefer to have a rest or take a trip. Which one do you prefer? Use specific details or examples to explain your answer.
思路：選擇“to have a rest or take a trip”，心情更好，就更容易更自在地跟人打交道，也就能認(rèn)識(shí)一些有趣的朋友：
I can make some interesting friends this way. You see, with a great mood, I’d like to talk to more people and share my experiences with them, and people would be more willing to communicate with me in this way.
例題3：Talk about a challenging experience you had before and how meaningful that is to you.
思路：比如可以說(shuō)“attending a basketball competition”，一個(gè)意義就是那次經(jīng)歷幫我交到了很多朋友，在比賽之前，我只是個(gè)普普通通的男/女生，贏(yíng)了比賽之后，火了，很多人想認(rèn)識(shí)我：
This experience also helped me make a lot more friends. You see, before that, I was just an ordinary guy in my school; but after winning the competition, many people liked to talk to me or hang out with me because I brought them honor and pride.
2.to learn/cultivate some skill(s)
常用詞匯及短語(yǔ)：to learn/cultivate/improve/enhance sth，reading/writing/language/… ability (concrete skills)，communicative/cooperative/organizational skills, leadership, teamwork spirit, independence (abstract skills) etc.
例題1：What is your favorite activity to do in the weekend? Give reasons to explain your answer.
思路：這次我們以“reading English novels”為主題，原因是提高了讀寫(xiě)能力，具體可以這樣說(shuō)：
My English is greatly improved after I make that my favorite hobby because I’ve learnt a lot about those original words and expressions in the novels. You know, sometimes I would even try to write something in English by imitating some passages in them.
例題2：Talk about a challenging experience you had before and how meaningful that is to you.
思路：還是說(shuō)“attending a basketball competition”，另外一個(gè)意義是我通過(guò)做隊(duì)長(zhǎng)鍛煉了我的組織和領(lǐng)導(dǎo)能力：
That was the first time I attended the competition as the captain of my team. I made lots of efforts to have the team members cooperate with each other and thus building up the team-work spirit, so my leadership and organizational skills were cultivated in that process.
例題3：Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: it is better to work in a group than to work alone?
思路：從提升能力的角度來(lái)說(shuō)，兩邊都可以選，選擇“to work in a group”可以說(shuō)團(tuán)隊(duì)協(xié)作能力、溝通能力或者領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力，選擇“to work alone”可以說(shuō)獨(dú)立能力，這里以后者為例：
When I work alone, I can learn to be independent because I cannot ask for someone else’s help easily. I gotta concentrate on my work and make efforts to find out all the possible solutions when I have a problem. This is helpful for myself.
